I just got my hose and could not use it because one fitting had a small crack in it that caused it to leak. Just as well since the 100' length is too long to keep untangled. Tightening it only made the leak worse. When I asked Amazon for a replacement I was told that it was out of stock. In addition, the 1/4 diameter is a bit small for anything that needs a lot of air such as a framing nailer. I will probably order a couple of the 3/8" by 50' instead.
Unfortunately they tangle more easily and don't coil up quite as nice. My brother is a contractor and has compressor hoses similar to this. They are very light weight, rarely kink, and are easy to coil up.I bought a couple of these thinking they were the same quality as the one's my brother had. They are still much better than the traditional bulky compressor hoses but don't perform as well as I had hoped compared to others I have used. For this reason I give this product 3 stars.
I ordered a 100 ft. PUR.air hose. What I received was a piece of crap made by another company(flexeel)The first hose had air bubbles in the hose which were showing through the hose.I sent the hose back along with a lengthy explanation of the problem, the most important of which is that the hose was not the manufacturer I ordered.Amazon never even wrote or addressed the problem. They did send meanother crappy hose from Flexeel though. They don't work as well as the Pur hose does. They don't roll up as easy, they tangle easier and I've been left wih a bad taste in my mouth by the complete lack of customer service. My complaints and questions were never addressed and I'm left with a 100 ft. piece of crap.I bought 2 14.4 Makita drill sets last year and I'm in the market for a 12" compound slide miter saw.I guess I'm back to shopping at Lowe's or Home Depot. They will at least help a customer when you ask them for help.Amazon never even contacted me after several attempts to speak with a Human being at customer service. To be honest I don't think they even have a customer servicedepartment. If they do they might want to read this and realize that they are losing a good customer due to a complete lack of caring on their part.Very upset and I bet that I still won't hear from Amazon on the matter.BUYERS BEWARE.
Here are the benefits:Takes up about 1/4 the space.Feels like it weighs just a few ounces, great for trasporting and working. If you use an air hose more than a few times a year these are a MUST have. The difference between using this product and a rubber hose cannot be over stated. The reduction in fatique is unreal. The pain in the rear end of coiling and uncoiling rubber hoses is gone. This hose practically coils itself.Much more flexible, even in cold weather. If you want to straighten it out to get the "coils" out of it just put one guy on each end and pull, it straightens right out. These hoses are easily repaired on site.If you are a contractor this hose will pay for itself the first day in increased productivity. Its really not that much more money than the rubber hoses.Downside: All that still good rubber hose that will just dry-rot.2000 feet of rubber hose sitting in my garage that will never be used again.
Perhaps I got a lemon, but the hose lasted less than 10 hours of light usage before one of the end connectors broke apart. That being said, Amazon customer service has been quite helpful, and will exchange it for a replacement. If the replacement doesn't disintegrate early in its expected life, then I'll update the review, but my inclination for now will be to avoid products made by PUR.
